Ricky Ponting World Cup Stats

Australia’s leading one day international run-scorer and also a century maker, Ricky Ponting have now surpassed records previously held by Mark Waugh. In the 1996 Cricket World Cup, Ricky Point scored a century against the West Indies in Jaipur, which made him the youngest ever World Cup centurion.

Also in a match against India in the 2003 Cricket World Cup final Ricky Ponting scored 140 and was unbeaten. This was the highest by a captain in a World Cup final. This was the final, in which India were heavily defeated by a big margin of 125 runs. This is a record defeat margin (for World Cup Final matches) in which Ponting's brilliant 140 from 121 balls was a great feature.
