This was the most thrilling match as of yet in this World Cup. The first tie-up match in this World Cup. Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to field. Ireland batted first and scored 221 in their 50 overs. J. P. Bray scored the highest in the side. He scored 115 in 139 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes.
Zimbabwe in their run chase struggled to win the match. Towards the end Zimbabwe batsman lost their wickets are were all out for 221 runs and the match ended in a tie.
